Bohemia and Moravia

Borders with Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Austria define the modern country. Bohemia and Moravia add historical and cultural geography within those boundaries, explaining different urban traditions and former administrative roles.

Three river settings

Prague stands on the Vltava, Brno beside the Svitava and Svratka, and Olomouc on the Morava. These waterways give each city its own physical frame. The Moravian centres offer distinct stories alongside the better-known images of Prague.
