Discover Denmark

Denmark consists of Jutland and many islands between the North Sea and Baltic. Water is fundamental to its geography. Bridges and ferries connect places that developed their own regional identities.

Three cities across the country

Copenhagen lies on Zealand and partly Amager. Aarhus stands on Jutland's eastern coast. Odense occupies a central position on Funen. Their locations make the national island structure easier to understand.

Country and kingdom

Greenland and the Faroe Islands belong to the Kingdom of Denmark but have distinct administrative and geographical settings. European Denmark is predominantly low-lying, with old trading towns, ports and agricultural landscapes shaped by regional connections.
