Moldova / Place guide
Discover Moldova
Moldova lies between Romania and Ukraine, largely between the Prut and Dniester rivers. Predominantly hilly farming landscapes provide an inland setting. The country should not be represented only through the streets of its largest city.

Rivers and regional places
Chișinău occupies the central inland region. Bălți provides a northern perspective, while Orhei introduces another central setting. Their relationships make local variety more understandable.
Geography and contested administration
The Dniester also connects with the dispute surrounding Transnistria. A simple country category cannot describe every political or administrative complication. Individual river and urban settings preserve geography while allowing careful distinction between the national landscape and contested territorial arrangements.
