Discover Singapore
Singapore is a Southeast Asian city-state whose main island lies south of the Malay Peninsula. Smaller islands also belong to its territory. The Johor Strait to the north and Singapore Strait to the south define a country closely connected with surrounding maritime routes.

Between Malaysia and Indonesia
Malaysia lies across the northern strait, while Indonesian islands stand beyond the southern shipping corridor. This position gives Singapore an important regional setting extending beyond its own compact territory.
More than the main island
The main island, also called Pulau Ujong, contains much of the urban landscape. Residential districts, high-rise areas and green spaces share this limited island setting. The state nevertheless includes other islands, making country and main island related but different geographical terms.
